Annual charity

At the end of 2024, Melkweg|Fritom had the honor of choosing the destination of the annual donation by the Fritom Group. On behalf of all Fritom companies, we symbolically handed over the beautiful sum of ten thousand euros to ‘Team Wybe’ on December 27.

The Team Wybe Foundation is an initiative of a group of friends who organize an event every year to raise money for cancer research. This time it was a five-day, 200-kilometer walk along the 11 Frisian cities, starting and finishing in Bolsward, in order to put the entire 11-city route in the light (Frisian ‘ljocht’). Hence the title #11stedenljocht.

"The goal of #11stedenljocht is togetherness, reflection, remembrance and, above all, raising money for research. Team Wybe works with the Maarten van der Weijden Foundation, which funds research into preventing and curing cancer. Proceeds go to research that impacts patients, selected by the Foundation's Medical Advisory Board."

From Team Wybe we received the following note: "What fantastic days we had after that amazing boost with you guys. Overwhelming. The total counter now stands at about €73,000. A fantastic amount."
